Turn the voice control features in the iPhone 4S
into an impressive productivity tool

Here’s an excellent one-page article from the nutritious Macworld.com site, written by one heck of a tech writer, Lex Friedman. Rather than try to paraphrase the whole thing, I’m running one of the tips in its entirety below and linking to the whole article with the remaining five tips right here. Even if you only get a trick or two out of this, it’ll speed up your use on your iPhone, doing things you thought would take a bunch of screen clicks.

In an unusual move for the usually control-freak company that is Apple, Siri was launched with iPhone 4S last year and has never technically come out of “beta” (meaning not really 100% finalized). Still, it’s quite functional but only hints at what the future of voice-control will be, and it’s coming sooner than you think. Currently Apple is working with 9 of the top car companies to include Siri’s technology for complete hands- and eyes-free control (well, not the driving part… though that would be cool, huh? “Go faster, Honda Civic, faster!!”) The release of iOS 6 this fall will very likely mark a big improvement in it.
