Hello… I Must Be Going

Dear Friends, Family and Followers,

This is my Farewell to the Troops speech. Why, you ask? Because, well, what we have here is a failure to communicate.

Based on overall traffic and feedback (or serious lack thereof), the site does not seem to be achieving its original goal (of making iSensei insanely wealthy and famous). Or at least getting enough people’s attention to share what was hopefully useful information.

Our recent plea for feedback and comments on the survival of the site kind of sealed the deal. Getting virtually zero response (except, of course, from Acolyte Número Uno – thanks, Bruce) pretty much settled the issue of whether this is a good use of my most precious non-renewable resource, TIME.

That doesn’t mean it wasn’t a rewarding experience for both you and me but it does mean there aren’t enough of you to continue this venture.

I plan on leaving the more durable information up here for a while but I will not be posting anything new. I always hate it when I see blogs that simply stop without any closer or explanation. Feels disrespectful to your readers. Maybe that’s just me, though. Just thought you should know what the deal was.

Either way, thanks for listening and I want to wish all of you the best damn 2013 you ever had!

Until next time…

Yer Most Obedient & Humble Servant,

iSensei (AKA Richard Bruning)

Nothing about iPhone 5 …OK?

OK, remember how iSensei has bragged that he’s going to offer up more “non-zen observations”? Well, he thought about doing something relating to the DNC last night (Bill remains “The Man”) but instead, he wants to share one of his recent faves on YouTube: “Real Actors Read Yelp (reviews)”. They’re short & sweet. Enjoy! (and yes, more Apple goodness is on its way)

A Post-Jobsian Observation…

Y’know, the Ol’ Wizened One has been thinking about this whole iPhone 5 release lead-up and if there’s one thing that’s different about Apple now versus a year ago, it’s that (and this is just his perception) there’s been a heck of a lot more rumors (with details) and decent quality pictures of the inside and outside (of what’s starting to really look like the next iPhone) that have leaked out.

Steve MadIf Steve were still around, he would have had a snit-fit and nipped a lot of this in the bud (that’s where Apple lawyers bite you). He HATED leaks like what we’ve seen in the last 6 months. Of course, the world going the way that it is (to Hell in a hand basket, but now with an 8-megapixel camera/phone) it’s not surprising that more is going to at least try to get out.

Doesn’t seem to have dampened people’s interest. Heck, it may make the damn thing even MORE desirable. Either way, iSensei just thought he’d mention it.

What do YOU think? Is knowing what it (supposedly) is going to look like make you more or less interested in getting one? Let us know.

And, to answer a question posed to his Wiseness the other day: nope, you can’t preorder the damn thing, unfortunately. Let’s hope they handle the demand better this time, though iSensei wouldn’t want to be the one responsible for guessing how many of these freakin’ things Apple should produce!

Don’t Be Shy!

Devoted Acolytes,

I know responding or commenting on iSensei’s postings may seem untoward or even sacrilegious, but honest, you’re not going to hurt his feelings (well, you could, but you’re all such nice folk). The Exalted One seeks your input to insure ever greater enlightenment for us ALL!

AND, if you have a question about your hardware or software of the kind we’re covering here, bring it! (It’s easier than iSensei having to figure out what to write about.) Remember, there are no dumb questions… only dumb answers, I guarantee you.

AND, AND, please be sure to send iSensei’s link* to ALL of your friends. Even your acquaintances. (I’d stop at relatives you don’t like, as we don’t need them at our party, now do we?)
iSensei takes no monetary compensation for sharing his wisdom.
The ego boost is enough to pay the rent. It’s a Win-Win for all!

AND, AND, AND, just to make this annoying talking in the third person easier, iSensei will now also go by “iSi” (aye-sigh). Plus it made for a cool new logo – see above!

*Just right-click (if nothing exciting happens, just hold down the Control key and click) on this colored text following, which should allow you to COPY THIS LINK to your clipboard. Then you can paste it anywhere: an email, a document containing important stuff, whatever.

As a matter of fact, that addresses a useful topic that will be covered in greater depth quite soon: The Right Stuff…no, I mean The Right Click! Easy for the experienced to assume all know its power but interactions with mortals have taught this one not to take any knowledge for granted. Some folks don’t ever use it even. iSensei cries for you. Anyway, that’s the Something Useful, This Way Comes I threatened you all with recently. Very useful. You’ll see.

Important Poll!
